Ingredients: -Butter 1 Cup -Sugar 1 Cup -Eggs 4 large or 5 small -Flour 2 Cups -Salt ½ tsp -Baking powder 1 tsp -Vanilla Extract 2 tsp Directions: -In an electric mixer, add butter and mix for 1-2 mins. -During mixing on medium speed, gradually add sugar and mix for 7-8 mins. -Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, mix for 2-3 mins. -In flour,add salt and baking powder,mix well. -Gradually add flour mixture in butter mixture and mix for 1-2 mins,beating just until combined (do not over mix). -Add vanilla extract and mix for 30 secs. -Grease loaf pan with butter and sprinkle plain flour. -Scrape the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top with an offset spatula or the back of a spoon. -Tap the pan against your countertop (tap-tap-tap-tap) to scare away any last few little air bubbles trapped within. -Bake in pre heated oven at 170 C for 40-45 mins. -Toothpick inserted in center should come out clean. -Remove the cake from oven, place on a wire rack to cool for about 10 minutes. Remove the cake from the pan and cool completely on a wire rack. -Cut into slices. -For sandwich cakes, grease sandwich maker, pour batter and give it 4-5 min. -Sandwich cake is ready.

Ingredients for Basic Sponge Cake Recipe Butter 50 grams Eggs 4 Sugar 1/2 cup + tablespoons Vanilla essence 1 teaspoon Refined flour (maida) 1 cup Method Preheat the oven to 180°C/350 ºF/Gas Mark 4. Line and grease an eight-inch round cake tin. Melt the butter and set it aside to cool. Beat together the eggs, sugar and vanilla essence till light and creamy. Gradually fold in the flour, stirring with a light hand only in one direction. Stir in the melted butter. Pour the batter into the prepared tin and bake for twenty-five to thirty minutes, till well risen and golden brown on top. Turn out onto a wire rack and leave to cool completely.

Ingredients: -Miada (All-purpose flour) 2 Cups (240 gms) -Cocoa powder ¾ Cup (75 gms) -Baking soda ½ tbs -Namak (Salt) 1 tsp -Makhan (Butter) Softened 150 gms (2/3 Cup) -Cheeni bareek (Caster sugar) 1 & ¾ Cup (350 gms) -Anday (Eggs) 3 -Vanilla essence 1 tbs -Doodh (Milk) 300 ml Chocolate Ganache: -Milk chocolate Chopped 250 gms -Cream ¾ cup Hot -Doodh (Milk) 1-2 tbs Directions: -Grease 9” round pan with oil and spread flour evenly,set aside. -In bowl,sift together the all-purpose flour,cocoa powder,baking soda and salt,mix dry ingredients and set aside. -In mixer machine,add butter and caster sugar, beat until light and fluffy. -During beating, add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. -Add vanilla essence and beat again. -Now add dry ingredients alternatively with milk,beat until all well combine. -Pour batter into a grease and floured pan and bake in preheated oven at 170 C for 35-40 minutes. -Let the cake cool down on a cooling rack. Chocolate Ganache: -In bowl,add milk chocolate and hot cream,leave it for 4-5 minutes and gently mix. -On double boiler,simmer on low flame,place bowl,add milk,mix well and leave for 10 minutes. -When cake is cool, apply chocolate ganache. -Chocolate cake is ready to serve.

Ingredients for Easy Chocolate Cake Recipe Refined flour (maida) 1 cup Cocoa powder 4 teaspoons Baking powder 1 teaspoon Sugar 1 cup Egg 2 Milk 3/4 cup Oil 3/4 cup Method In a bowl sieve the flour and cocoa powder and add baking powder, sugar and mix well. In another bowl break and whisk the eggs well. Add milk and oil and mix well. Add the mixture to the dry flour mix and blend well so that no lumps are left. Grease a non stick vessel with little oil and transfer the cake mix and seal the top with aluminum foil. Boil two cups of water in a pressure cooker and place the vessel in it. Covr and cook without the whistle for half an hour. Allow it to cool and remove the cake from the vessel. Make the icing of your choice or serve cut into slices with tea.
