Keonhee introduced himself as the “mouth” of ONEUS, not only because his mouth is big, but also because he’s good at singing and speaking. Keonhee’s motto is, “Always be the person that influences good things to everyone.” Keonhee is easy to get excited, for example when he’s singing, he can’t control the excitement when he’s singing only. Keonhee’s MBTI is ENFP. He takes the MBTI type personality seriously. He often fills the MBTI bingo that you usually find in some online communities. Keonhee is the tallest in ONEUS, he has long legs. Keonhee’s ears’ shape is very peculiar to one another. Keonhee doesn’t like paprika, celery, bell peppers, and cucumbers. Even so, Keonhee likes to eat, and he really enjoys delicious foods. For him, every bite of food that he takes should be delicious. Even though Keonhee seems like a bright person, he has sensitivity. Knowing that he’s such a sweet and caring person, you probably wondered why he decided to be an idol, and how come he became an idol? Well, of course, he has a great voice, but every idol has their own story before they made it big. So, now it’s time to see Keonhee’s story before he debuted as the Keonhee from ONEUS that we know now. Let’s check out the pre-debut story of Keonhee below! Keonhee was born and raised in Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do. He was born with the name Lee Keonhee on June 27th, 1998. Keonhee is the eldest son, he has two younger sisters. Just like how Keonhee is around his members in ONEUS, Keonhee seemed like a good older brother to his siblings. Keonhee spent his childhood and teenage life in his hometown. Even when he was young, he was already interested in music. Keonhee already had a good voice before becoming a trainee. Keonhee who went from elementary school until high school in Gyeonggi-do, decided to join an audition for a K-pop agency in Seoul. At that time, he had chosen the Practical Music department for college. The same year when he took the entrance exam for college, Keonhee joined an audition for some K-pop companies, one of them was RBW Entertainment, the agency that later debuted him as an idol. There was a video of him singing on a YouTube channel that also had an interview of him when he was about to join the company. Unfortunately, there are no English subtitles, but we can easily see how determined he was back then.
Plus, Keonhee when he was a freshman student is really cute, right? Keonhee then officially became a trainee in RBW Entertainment after singing for about ten minutes and having an interview for about thirty minutes. After he debuted as an idol, Keonhee asked the staff what is the reason they accepting him, and they said that it was because he was tall. Well, he is indeed tall. But of course, it was also because of his amazing voice, right? In 2017, Keonhee joined the survival show titled Produce 101, he joined the second season where the popular boy group WANNA ONE debuted. Even though Keonhee didn’t make it to the final line-up, he still gained a lot of popularity. It was such a good thing since he had just started his career as a trainee. He also left a mark in everyone’s heart with his funny appearance during Produce 101 Season 2. For example, he can open his mouth so wide. No wonder people love him after he made a debut, Keonhee had already been a lovable person even when he was a trainee.
ONEUS’s Keonhee’s Debut
The survival show Produce 101 that Keonhee took part in in 2017 probably wasn’t a successful experience for him. But it wasn’t a bad start after all. People recognized him, he also showed his great vocals in the show. That probably was the reason why the agency included him in the line-up of the upcoming boy group. In November 2017, Keonhee started to prepare for the next boy group that will debut later in RBW Entertainment. He also appeared in a reality show titled RBW Trainee Real Life — We Will Debut, which showed life as a trainee in RBW Entertainment. Years after that, more precisely on January 9th, 2019, Keonhee and other trainees of RBW Entertainment finally see the day that they have been waiting for.
The group made a debut with six talented members which are RAVN, Seoho, Leedo, Keonhee, Hwanwoong, and Xion. The group called ONEUS released their first extended play titled Light Us, along with their single “Valkyrie”. Let’s see the music video of “Valkyrie” by ONEUS!
